Compassionate Inquiry
Compassionate Inquiry is a psychotherapeutic approach developed by Dr. Gabor Maté.
By combining Compassionate Inquiry with acupuncture, clients experience a more comprehensive healing process, addressing the interconnected layers of emotional, psychological, and physical well-being.
While acupuncture addresses the body’s physical and energetic imbalances, Compassionate Inquiry complements this by addressing emotional and psychological imbalances.
Acupuncture helps release physical tension and activate the body’s self-healing mechanisms, while Compassionate Inquiry supports the emotional release of trauma, stress, or unresolved conflicts.
When combined, these two powerful modalities provide a holistic approach to healing that integrates the mind and body, the physical and the emotional.
Together, they create a synergistic healing experience.
What Compassionate Inquiry can help with:
- Healing unresolved emotions and traumatic experiences.
- Understanding and working with the underlying emotional factors contributing to physical conditions.
- Increased awareness of the mind-body connection: Understanding how emotional wounds manifest physically and learning ways of working with both aspects in your healing journey.
What does a session look like:
In addition to my 20 years of professional experience as an acupuncturist and lecturer in Chinese Medicine, I have also completed the two-year Compassionate Inquiry program and am a certified practitioner.
- The entire session is 90 minutes long
- The sessions are split into two parts.
Compassionate Inquiry
The first part is talk therapy- Compassionate Inquiry, where we explore what is present for you. Through gentle guidance and invitations, we will explore the felt sensation and bring to the surface unconscious beliefs and experiences.
Acupuncture
The second part we will move to the acupuncture room where needles will be placed based on the physical problems as well as the themes that were explored in the first part.
