Pain

Back pain and sciatica, headaches, joint and muscle pain, digestive pain: pain takes many forms. Whatever yours looks like, it is your body telling you that something needs attention.

“Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding.”

Looking at what the pain points to

The aim is not to silence the signal, but to look at what it is pointing to, and to respond to that.

Not always where it hurts

There is often already enough happening where it hurts. So I place the needles some distance from the painful area, and work with the body to help it find its way back to balance. Where pain shows up is not always where it begins.

The whole picture

I ask about your pain in detail: where it is, when it comes, what changes it, and whether movement makes a difference. I also ask about your health in general and how you live, because in Chinese medicine everything is connected.

A treatment that builds

Acupuncture gives the body a piece of information about how it can be different. That information needs reinforcing, so the treatment is repeated over time, to help the body integrate it.

Ready when you are.

There is no wrong place to begin.
