For meditation retreats such as Vipassana, silent retreats, vision quests, time alone in nature and other deep inner experiences.
Experiences like these ask something of us before, and something after. They take place elsewhere, with the people who guide them. I accompany you before and after: to prepare for what lies ahead, and to integrate what you lived.
We begin as any first visit does, with a full health intake, so that nothing about your body is overlooked. Then we explore what is present in you and where your question lives. We ask open questions and we listen to the body, to hear what it would like to explore in the experience ahead.
You tell the story of what happened: what you experienced, what you saw, what it was like. There is no hurry, and nothing to interpret yet. Once it has been told, I may ask what themes you notice, and we may return to what we explored beforehand.
Integration is not about giving what happened a meaning. It is about making room for whatever arose, so that it can do its work in you. Experiences like these can feel dreamlike, and this is one of the ways we can work with dreams: not analysing what came, but letting it do the work we have asked of it.
As in my other sessions, acupuncture helps whatever has come up settle in the body.
Before any prolonged experience, of any kind, please make sure you are in good physical health, and ask whoever is running it whether you need a medical certificate. This is a matter for you, your doctor and the retreat or centre concerned. I do not take part in that decision.
You book an appointment in the usual way. Preparation and integration are part of my sessions.

There is no wrong place to begin.
